He obtained a Law Degree, graduating with 110/110 and a dissertation on international law, from Università degli Studi of Milan. He became a lawyer in 2000. After gaining experience in a well-known firm specializing in international law, where he worked on issues of corporate law, civil law and commercial law, Luca Menichino joined the Menichino law firm, specializing in labour law. He manages in court and out-of-court issues, with specific competence in aspects of international labour law. He provides assistance to Italian companies, multinationals and investment funds on employment issues in mergers and acquisitions, transfers and sales of business branches, as well as to executives. He is the head of the litigation department, and deals with redundancies procedures and access to the Wages Guarantee Fund, including the related trade union negotiations. Over the years, he has assisted numerous companies which have streamlined their structures, also aiding them in the procedures for dismissing directors, executives and single employees. He speaks and writes English fluently.
He was born in Milan, the fourth generation of lawyers in his family. In over 40 years of professional practice, he has assisted all of the leading industrial, commercial and financial companies in Italy, which means he has an in-depth knowledge of the labour market and all of its changing aspects. He is well-known for managing the employment relationships of top management and directors. Starting in 1970, when the Statuto dei Lavoratori came into force (Workers' Statute), Filippo Menichino was one of the few lawyers in Italy exclusively practicing labour law, and witnessed the dramatic events of the following years. Filippo Menichino has worked with Il Sole 24 Ore and MF/Milano Finanza newspapers, and also holds training courses in the field of labour law. He is often asked to speak at conventions and conferences on labour law. Recently he has been awarded the lifetime achievement "labour award”. He speaks and writes French.
